In The Beginning

History
Cleveland Couples Together, formerly Monotones, was established in May 1986 by a small group of gay and lesbian couples searching for a social outlet that fostered an atmosphere of openness and acceptance, while still respecting each couple’s commitment to one another.

Twenty-something years later, the group dynamics have changed slightly, but one thing has remained constant – our commitment to ensuring that all member couples can engage socially with other couples in a non-threatening and relaxed environment. We value – and strongly support – committed relationships, viewing each relationship as a unique pairing, worth celebrating and recognizing.

Today, the group has expanded to include not only gay and lesbian couples, but also those who identify as bisexual and transgendered.

We are proud of our heritage and extend a warm welcome to other like-minded couples seeking a close-knit social group, where respect is the name of the game.

Makeup of Group
Our membership includes individuals from every imaginable walk of life, a variety of ethnic backgrounds and boasts a very broad age-range. In addition the group is composed of a healthy mix of both male and female couples who complement each other perfectly. In other words, we run the gamut when it comes to diversity, so you’re certain to find a niche where you’ll fit perfectly.
